Description:

Avenue Shipping Company's 1959 Smith's Dock, Middlesbrough, built GALWAY, which was lengthened in 1967, is seen passing Portishead on 17th December 1972, exactly fifty years ago today, inbound for Avonmouth during a voyage from Calcutta for Liverpool.

Later: 1975 STRATHINVER - 76 GOLDEN FORTUNE

On 9 September 1983, during a typhoon, she was wrecked at Kau Yi Chau, Hong Kong

The wreck was subsequently broken up "in situ"
