Preceding the Evergreen G-Class were six units of the L-Class, (four from Onomichi and two from China Shipbuilding) which had about the same dimensions as the original G class ships, but were not subject to lengthening after the introduction of the Round the World Service. All were used later in their lives by subsidiary Lloyd Triestino, with their prefix Ever being replaced by LT.
