G'Day Peter,
I understand it denotes a high reefer capacity.
Cheers,

It's interesting to note many of MSC's second hand purchases have III as their suffix. Even some existing vessels such as MSC Banu have been renamed MSC Banu III. Does anyone know the significance of this?

G'Day Tony,
I'm not really the oracle on MSC renamings, but I've been told that the III is included on vessels that have been repurchased after being sold or have been purchased outright from their charterers . . .
Oh, BTW csaba, nice pic !!
Cheer,
tropic

Thanks Tropic. Sounds a likely reason.
And yes, Tony, most MSC visitors to these shores have that III suffix now - still a mystery to me.

What does the suffix R stand for on MSC ships such as this one, please? MSC STAR R is another instance of a ship with this naming system.
