Description:
Completed in 1915 as MAR DEL NORTE by Euskalduna shipyard in Olaveaga, Spain, Basque country. This general cargo ship had 40 years long life. She crossed the two world war. She changed her name in 1928 for RIO NAVIA, in 1935 for ARATE-MENDI, in 1936 for ELLEN, in 1938 ARATE-MENDI and in 1939 she finaly became MONTE FARO. Until 1965, she was operated by Naviera Aznar SA, in Bilbao and was also broken up in Bilbao in 1965.
She is photographed at the end of the 50’s in Bayonne, Quai des allées marines. Nowadays, there is no longer any commercial operation at this part of the port.
