Seems to be named after the city of Chu Lai in the former country of South Viet Nam - I recognize the name as Chu Lai was also a large base for the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam war in the 1960's & 1970's. Been there done that as the saying goes. Thanks for posting this excellent photo!!
