Seen from Brocklebank's SS Manaar at Colombo in probably early to mid April 1964. We arrived in Colombo roads on the 8th March and entered port shortly after to discharge a cargo of bullion, before returning to the anchorage to await our turn for a berth. We were alongside in Berth 1 and dressed over in flags to celebrate the birth of Prince Edward on the 10th March. We entered port a couple of times to take on water. Once was at the water berth near Walker’s dry dock and the other at buoys. This photo was taken from the latter.
