This ship has been owned by Russian interests since 2005, and the she adopted the name CANOPUS (written on the bow in Cyrillic with a K character, C in cyrllic being an S). The bridge board in Arabic showed her name as CANOPUS. According to the registers from March 2009 to November 2010 her name in Arabic became KANOPUS, so written with a K. Since then she reverted to CANOPUS with C and never changed again. Now when I look at shots here taken during her KANOPUS period, her bridge board was still the same, so written with a C. So the question is, do we follow the register whereby all shots adopt the title KANOPUS or do we follow our gut feeling and use the title CANOPUS for all shots taken after 2005?
