TARN (imo 5301071) was built in 1933 by NV Nederlandsche Scheepbouw Maatschappij at Amsterdam as yard# 225 for Den Norske Afrika og Australia Linje at Oslo (Wilhelm Wilhelmsens Rederi A/S at Tonsberg as manager). Launched on 20th May 1933 by mrs A. Overweg-van Deventer, completed 13th September that same year. On 26th September 1960 sold to Marnuestro Cia Navigation SA Panama City (Michail A. Karageogis at Piraeus as manager) and renamed ROULA .Sold in 1966 to Taiwan shipbreakers and arrived Kaohsiung on 20th May 1966, but was reconditioned by Chou's Iron & Steel Company and sold to Ta Lai S.S. Co. Ltd., Panama who renamed her RUTA. Demolition commenced in April 1967 at Keelung, where she had been since the end of 1966. Dim.: 479.1 x 61.1 x 29.0 feet. Tonnage: grt 6850, nrt 4209, dwt 10225. Two 6 cyl. 2-stroke oil engines totaling 10000 ihp by Gebr. Stork & Co. N.V. at Hengelo, driving twin screws. Service speed 16.25 knots, 12 passengers.
