Description:
Salénrederierna's 1972 La Ciotat built reefer SNOW FLAKE passing Rozenburg inbound for Rotterdam from Los Angeles on 29th March 1975.
In March 1984, she was taken on charter by Cool Carriers as SOUTH VIEW, owned by Nan Fung Development Ltd. of Hong Kong. On her return to Sheerness after a voyage to Cape Town, she sailed on 5th June 1985 as BLUE SEA to anchor in Tor Bay before being laid up in the River Fal. Then purchased by the Vestey Group and renamed SANTOS STAR, she was reactivated in November 1985, loading a cargo at Le Havre for South America. She was initially managed by Wallem before Lion Shipping took over the function between 1986 and 1987, Austasia Line then becoming her nominal owner until 1993. Meanwhile, in December 1986, for a seven-month charter to CSAV, she was temporarily renamed LIMARI. Between July 1990 and October 1992, SANTOS STAR was chartered out to United Fruit.
Then, between 1996 and 1998, she was chartered out to Universal Reefers as SNOW DELTA. In December 1998, she was sold to Target Marine of Piraeus with a charter back to Star Reefers. On termination of the sub-charter to Universal in 2000 her name reverted to SANTOS STAR, as which she was scrapped at Chittagong in 2006, being beached on 27th August 2006 for that purpose.
