Description:
A fairytale that started in The Kingdom of Denmark in 1965!
The beautiful motor yacht SKAT belongs to Charles Simonyi, US-Hungarian computer millionaire and Cosmonaut (space tourist).
Charles Simonyi is originally from Hungary, which at the time (The Cold War) was behind the Iron Curtain.
He got out and came to Denmark as a fugitive at the age17 owning “absolute nothing”, and started working as a talented young man in Copenhagen for the Danish computer company "Regnecentralen".
Charles had a Danish girlfriend who called him SKAT or "sweetheart" in English. The name of the yacht is believed to come from this young love.
Years later (1980) Charles came to Microsoft in the U.S. (hired as number 40 in the company) and many of you have bin working with the computer software "Word" and "Excel". Charles Simonyi, became a millionaire because of his leading role in developing "Word" and "Excel" for Microsoft. Today he owns his own business.
Charles has many friends from his youth time in Denmark and he visits each year Danish waters and ports with his beautiful yacht SKAT.
It is said that friends who visit the yacht, regardless of their status, are asked to take off their shoes before boarding SKAT.
Visit to Aarhus harbour, Denmark. Own helicopter on board. What a beautiful privilege!
