Description:

Swedish timber had been brought to Hull's Victoria Dock for Ohlssonship (UK) Ltd by PETER (1569grt/1916) on 29 August 1964. The old steamer had been built at Fredriksstad M/V and spent most of her career under the Swedish ensign before moving to the Panama register in 1960 as PETER. She was broken up at Ystad in 1967. Many thanks for your most interesting postings of historic ships. I would just clarify that Ohlssonship acted as agents for Baltic shipowners.

In 1964, PETER (and the 1926 built JOHN) were owned by A.Saarna, who was probably Estonian, while the 1916 built IVAR and 1918 built ANNE were owned by Ragnar Inkapööl, who it seems was Swedish:

What a splendid picture! Given her rather high age, the "Peter" seems to be in a pretty nice condition. Thanks for sharing!
