In connection with the introduction by the United States of restrictions on companies and goods from communist Poland (martial law introduced in Poland by the Soviet governor Wojciech Jaruzelski on December 13, 1981), the ship was withdrawn from the North American line and directed to the Far East PLO service - from January 1982. August 1991 m/s Franciszek Zubrzycki was sold to an Egyptian shipowner and changed its name to ECO SHERIEF. In April 1994, off the coast of Denmark, a fire broke out on the ship, which temporarily disabled the ship. Detained by the Danish authorities, contrary to the instructions, it was launched and returned to Gdańsk for repairs. After repairs, it changed its name again - this time to AGYAD. Due to the problems it caused to the owners, it was sold for scrap. Commencement of scrapping - at Alang Beach - January 1995.

Private memories related to this ship and the entire B438 series.
As an apprentice, I worked on the equipment of this ship.
My father, a longtime Ship Engineer Officer, supervised the construction of m/s Franciszek Zubrzycki on behalf of his employer - Polish Ocean Lines, and later worked on it and on two other ships in the series.
