Description:
And this is what the superstructure looked like after collision with m/v CAPE HATTERAS. Two men have a brand new life as they were sleeping in crushed cabins during the collision. You can see m/v CAPE HATTERAS' bow 'fingerprint' left on the superstructure.

COMMENT THIS PHOTO(4)
Rega was hit by Cape Hatteras at Puerto Cabello (Venezuela) in 09.07.2006.
The reason was the "blackout" on the Cape Hatteras.
Regawas staying at the quay.
It is strange, becasue Cape Haterras was floating with two tugs!
There were on Rega badly demolised two cabins and the pentry. Also the board of engineroom was penetrated.
Rega was repaired in Szczecin (Master Shipyard).
Best regards,
Mark.

Might seem like a miracle but nothing serious except for the minor bruises and cuts. Believe me, you couldn't tell that from the look of the inside of cabins. Both seamen were in bad at the time of accident and apparently it saved their lives. On the other hand what was really hurt was their psyche i suppose.
