Description:
Liberian DART EUROPA is here photographed at Rotterdam in may 1998.
She was built 1972 by Rheinstahl Nordseewerke, Emden, as british ASIALINER for a Seatrain-company, and managed by Denholm Ship Management.
The vessel was equipped with gas-turbines, which gave her a speed of 26 knots. After some years, this showed to not be fuel efficient, and in 1980 gas-turbine was replaced with 2 dieselengines. Speed was then reduced to 20 knots.
This was a vessel which later had a lot of name-changes through her life.
