WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
Aptly named after the operators of the service, the G AND C ADMIRAL shown here in bound Rotterdam, around 1988. Originally the Seaspeed America, she adopted this name in 1987, and was renamed again in 1993, briefly STENA AMERICA, while in the same year she joined the MARAD fleet and was renamed CAPE RACE during their search for suitable RoRo tonnage. She is still part of the Reserve Fleet.
Seaspeed America was built by Kawasaki (#1259), together with sisters Arabia and Asia, which also ended up with MARAD.
