The vessel is primarily deployed in the Arctic waters north of Norway, the Barents Sea and the coastal waters of Svalbard.

This Coast Guard vessel is the first Norwegian coast guard vessel with ice-breaking capabilities.

The third of three Nordkapp Class patrol vessels of the Norwegian Coast Guard.

Launched n February 2001, and completed on 05/01/2002.
The hull was built by Tangen Verft, Kragerø, Norway (124)
Outfitting and completion was by Langsten, Tomrefjord, Norway (182).
6,375 g.t. & 600 dwt.
