The fishing vessel "General Ostryakov" moored alongside another rusty ship at the outer breakwater in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The trawler was build 1976 and is registered in the Ukraine.
The funnel is marked UKR.

The ship on the inboard side is the " Topaz", IMO 8607115 , registerd at Torshavn, Faroe Islands.

She had arrived in tow at Las Palmas in November 2006. Her condition at that time was such that she appeared to have been laid up for some time & was in a very poor & rusty condition.

No name or port of registration was displayed with signs of them having been painted over.

Previous name was " Ivan Burmistrov".

After an extensive time in the shipyard of Astilleros Canarias she emerged under her new name and registration.

With the right translation of "Ostryakov" from the kyrillian letters I found the IMO number too and some additional information.

Hello Alexander,

she's one of numerous trawlers built by Volkswerft Stralsund for Russia.
Type: Atlantik Supertrawler.
Delivered on 24.03.1976 as building number 1190. Homeport was Sevastopol.
