Description:
One from the archives. The Mersey Docks and Harbour Board salvage vessel Vigilant and her sister ship Salvor were regular sights on the Mersey in the 50s, 60, and 70s. This view taken in approx the early 70s shows her southbound passing Liverpool Pier Head. She was built in 1953. In early 1978 she was renamed Staunch to release the name Vigilant for a new build salvage vessel. She was broken up at Garston in November 1978.
