KURENAI MARU (currently as ROYAL WING being scrapped at Mokpo, South Korea) shown arriving on 29 July 1963 (exactly 60 years ago to the day!!) from Osaka at Nakatottei Passenger Terminal, Kobe to load passengers including myself for a voyage to Takamatsu, Matsuyama and Beppu. The design of this, the third generation KURENAI MARU, can be traced back to the first KURENAI MARU which was a reconstruction of Norddeutschen Lloyd's Yangtse passenger steamer MEI SHUN of 1900.
