A general cargo ship ordered in the Gdańsk Shipyard by the Cooperative Shipping Company. After the liquidation of the shipping company, the order was taken over by PŻM (currently POLSTEAM). The keel for the construction of the ship ( B51/II/6 ) was laid on 19 October 1957 . Launched - January 31, 1958 as INA. Completion of construction and delivery to the shipowner - September 1958. In August 1962, the ship was taken over by the Polish Navy for trials to adapt the ships of this series to the role of auxiliary transporters. A 25 mm caliber gun was installed on board, 4 torpedoes, sea mines, depth charges, 13 tons of ammunition, life-saving equipment were loaded. After the trials, the ship was returned to service at PŻM. In January 1969, the ship ran into rocks near Sarpsborg and suffered severe damage. Renovated and returned to operation. Handed over to the newly established company POLSKA ZEGLUGA BAŁTYCKA (PŻB - now Polferries) on May 14, 1974.
In January 1979, she got stuck in an ice field on her way to Świnoujście and was in serious danger of sinking. Thanks to the action of the Polish tugboat ARGUS (H-2500/4, built in the Naval Shipyard in Gdynia) it was saved. On June 28, 1984, the ship was handed over to the Maritime University of Szczecin. After the adaptation carried out by the Parnica Shipyard, in May 1985 she changed her name to KAPITAN ZBIGNIEW SZYMANSKI and until November 1991 she served as a stationary ship for rescue and firefighting exercises.
Scrapped at Świnoujście in 1993.
