Blue Marlin and escort tug Red Wolf lay in the Inner Moray Firth for a couple of days whilst sea fastenings were removed. It was planned to offload a few miles offshore but this was changed and the ship moved into the sheltered waters of the Cromarty Firth where jobs of this type have been done before. The float off was carried out with assistance of tugs Sea Tiger, Alphonse Letzer, Kinross and Champion. Galaxy II came off first and was towed to a berth at Invergordon. Rowan Gorilla was towed Half a mile or so and jacked up for loading of stores etc in readiness for a job in the Arbroath Field, in the North Sea UK Sector. She was towed away a few days later by Sea Tiger, Galaxy II remains jacked up at Invergordon with works going on aboard the rig.
These pics were taken on arrival in the Inner Moray Firth from a workboat, the float off occurred in the dark and finished in fog!.

Terrific photos Ron, I was wondering where the two platforms ended up, I was told they were on their way to Norway, but I see that was not the case.
