Description:
Danish passenger ferry KONG OLAV V is here seen in wintry conditions at Oslo in February 1982. She sailed in regular traffic between Copenhagen and Oslo. The vessel was built 1968 at Riva Trigoso, Genoa.
Her history:
1968: Delivered as KONG OLAV V (Denmark)
1976: Rebuilt at Aalborg. Among renewals was a new superstructure aft, and new funnel.
1984: NEW GULANGYU (China)
1984: GULANG YU (China)
1988: LEADER PRINCE (Panama)
1992: NEW ORIENT PRINCESS (Panama)
25.08.1993: Totally damaged in fire while outside Hong Kong. Had to be grounded, and was later condemned.
05.1994: The wreck was sold to Chinese breakers.
