Behind her, also laid up in Caen is her near sister ship 'Greg Mortimer' (IMO 9834648).

Why are these relatively new ships laid up ? 3 of them ?

Ocean Odyssey and Ocean Explorer were used by Vantage Cruises, which went bankrupt recently: they both rejoined in Caen for lay up, but Ocean Explorer then found sole employment. She wasn't lucky though as she grounded in Greenland. So she's back again in Caen.
As for Greg Mortimer, I don't know why she came, but she actually left Caen today for Vigo in Spain!
Caen has been receiving the last few years several cruise ships from the same owner, such as Ocean Atlantic, Ocean Diamond, Ocean Endeavor...
