Description:

Greek ELLI is here seen at Sfax, Tunisia in May 1982, where she was berthed just ahead of my vessel.
This vessel was built 1958 by Rheinstahl Nordseewerke, Emden, as ALFRED THEODOR for German owner Alfred C. Toepfer, Emden.
Sold to Singapore in 1979 and renamed MACCHIAVELLI. Sold again in 1980, this time to Greek owners, who renamed her ELLI.
On 18 May 1984 she arrived at Gadani Beach, Pakistan for demolition. She had then been transferred to Malta registry and renamed ELLI M for her last voyage.

Thanks Malcolm. Yes, on the photo we can see she is discharging some bagged cargo from aft hold. This may well be the bagged cement you mention.

Many thanks for posting this lovely photograph.
Having sailed from Volos on about 1st May 1982, calling at Syros the next day, ELLI had presumably arrived at Sfax with a cargo of bagged cement.
She subsequently arrived at Piraeus on 11th June 1982 from Tunis to lay up.
Reactivated as ELLI M. in March 1984, she loaded a final cargo, probably again bagged cement, at Constantza for discharge at Mokha, where she arrived on 25th April.
Best regards. Malcolm Cranfield
