Description:

The Norwegian owner Aaby's Rederi's 1956 Lübeck built SVOLDER had arrived at Avonmouth on 9th October 1963 with a cargo of grain from Baltimore. Here, she is seen in San Francisco Bay during June 1970 when in course of having her funnel repainted for a time charter to Leif Høegh. As HØEGH SVOLDER she operated in Swedish West Africa colours until 1974.

Graham, as the photo was taken in June 1970, it seems more likely that she was in course of being repainted in Swedish West Africa colours, which she presumably had until 1974. Best regards. Malcolm

Possibly having her funnel being repainted in her owners colours having taken Hoegh’s colours as HOEGH SVOLDER?
