Description:

On a cold winters night on the 25th of January 2022 whilst on a voyage from Iskenderun in Turkey to Misrata in Libya the cargo vessel Manassa Rose M was caught in storm Elpis. While trying to take shelter off the coast of North West Crete in the Bay of Kissamos near to Drapanias. She tried to anchor but ran aground on a sandbank and was hit by some large waves as they broke over the shoal.
The crew abandoned ship, 8 went into a life raft and 2 jumped into the sea. All were rescued and the 2 who went into the sea suffered from hypothermia.
As of today the ship which has broke in two sits about 250 meters off the local beach.
