Description:

Houston Line (Clan Line)’s 1939 Greenock built CLAN MACDONALD had arrived at Avonmouth from South Africa sixty years ago today, on 26th January 1964. Here she is seen at Durban at Easter 1964, photographed by Trevor Jones who was fifteen years old at the time and gives his permission to post this scan of his slide.

CLAN MACDONALD finally arrived at Shanghai on 6th August 1970 for breaking.

Thankyou Andreas. Trevor Jones clarifies as follows: "That photo was on the first full spool of Kodachrome film I ever took. I had previously taken occasional slides with my father's Praktica, but otherwise took b&w negatives. After seeing the results of this roll of film, I was hooked and have stayed hooked for 60 years!"
