WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
One of several bulkccarriers owned by the Jebsen Group, and flagged out to Panama during the eighties. They were named after, what I think, some fancy Philippine generals, of which their claim to fame could be questionable.
This one was originally the Bellnes, delivered from the Nippon Kokan Shimizu shipyard in 1975, firs renamed Manila Hope in 1984 and then General Lapus in 1986. The general was dismissed in 1988, when the ship became Matumba II. She ended up as Osman Mete in 1995 and as such sailed until 2009, when she was broken up at Alang.
Shown here at the EECV Caland Canal terminal during 1987.
