Description:

ELBE, operated by Deutsche Seereederei VEB of Rostock, East Germany, was photographed in the River Elbe as she departed the Kiel Canal at Brunsbuttel on the evening of 23rd August 1975 bound from Rostock to Tripoli (Libya)

ELBE, built at Bremerhaven in 1953 as the West German MARMARA, had been purchased by East Germany in 1962.

Arrived Kaohsiung 3.5.80 to be broken up following a voyage from Canea (Crete) to Vietnam
