Description:

The Greek (Diamantis Lemos) owned ARCHON CHERUBIM, the former TREMORVAH of Hain S.S. Co., arriving at Eastham from Durban on 24 February 1974 with a cargo of grain for Manchester, where she was sold. As fog had descended when the ship entered Eastham Channel, it was fortunate that it was possible to photograph her inside the Canal, approaching the masting crane berth.

Following discharge, she was sold to Abbas Gokal’s Gulf Shipping Group and renamed FIVE HILLS, departing on 14th April 1974 bound for Bremen to load cargo for Colombo. After arriving at Hong Kong on 27th May 1976 she was resold to the locally based Goldwyn Shipping Co, sailing as PHUTRUSKA on 24 July 1976 for Bangkok. On 14th September 1978, scrapping of the vessel commenced at Hong Kong.

A similar photograph and text can be seen in my recently published book on the Manchester Ship Canal, published by Kelsey (Ships Monthly magazine).
