Description:

The 1969 Austin & Pickersgill, Sunderland, built SD14 type IO is seen in Huskisson 3 Branch Dock, Liverpool, exactly forty years ago today, on 3rd March 1984. She was discharging a cargo of oilseed for the manufacture of animal feedstuffs.

Operated by Sounion Shipping Co. of Piraeus, she was built as CARINA, became ALIOUSSA in 1978 and IO in 1980.

As HYMETUS, owned by Palmyra Tsiris Lines from 1986, she foundered on 17th November 1986 about 150 miles southeast of Hong Kong after her hull had cracked on voyage from Bourgas to Shanghai
