WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
Bearing the name "CORVO", referring to one of the new islands of the Azores, this container ship was built in the shipyards of Viana do Castelo in mid-2006/2007, on order from Mutualista Açoreana de Transportes Marítimos.
It sails mostly between the seaports of Ponta Delgada - Leixões - Lisbon. It is therefore a regular presence in Lisbon, where whenever possible I take various photographs of this simple but classic ship of the Portuguese Merchant Navy.
In the photos below, the CORVO was leaving the quay at Poço do Bispo on a day of rough seas, above the houses of Lisbon. It is now sailing for another Atlantic voyage to the Azorean island of São Miguel (Ponta Delgada), with various cargoes, contributing to the promotion and development of that region.
Cacilhas - March 2024.
