Just a footnote with regard to Chilean registered fishing vessels, interested to note in this months Fishing News International (March 2007) a picture of the once successful jack mackerel trawler Vikingo being towed away for scrapping by a navy tug. Vikingo has a scottish connection having been the ex Orcades Viking, ex Orcades Viking II, ex Zeta and ex Uksnoy.

Hey nice links - thanks! Ingunn (built 2000) is very similar to the others, but I think she is a little shorter at 65.69m while the other four are all 74.50m.

Best wishes

John

Hey nice shot!

Last saw her when in Lerwick 2004, then under Norwegian flag. As far as known 4 sister ships in total - Cazador (ex El Cazador) and El Cazador II (both built 1997) and Murman-2 and Christian I Grotinum (both built 1998)

Hi Ole

When in Lerwick she was still Cazador with fishing number H-97-AV (visit date Oct 2004). I posted a photo of her back then which is still here on the site although not a great picture (it was a dark, dull morning I think!)

Cheers

John

Thanks for info.
I've found the pic you mention and it is almost taken from same angle..then it's easy to see, it's the same ship...
