Built in 1949 by R.W. Hawthorn Leslie at Hebburn on Tyne and named Tyne Queen, she served as a passenger ferry on the Tyne until 1986.

What a fantastic photograph - reflections in the water add so much to the picture :-)

The fact that this was the former Tyne Queen caught my eye (me hailing from Newcastle!).
Good to see that this former ferry is still on the go and not scrapped years ago. There is a photograph (1967) at the following link that shows what she looked like in her former guise:

Whilst on the River Tyne she used to ply the Wallsend/Walker to Hebburn ferry route. Indeed it was the Tyne Queen which was the last ferry to use that route whe it closed 25 July 1986. Mainly used by shipyard workers travelling from one side of the Tyne to the other.

Yes, you can't go wrong on a day like yesterday! It seems a pity to crop out reflections as they do add to the picture.
There are a few more Loch Ness cruise boats kept further down the loch, must get them next time.
