Description:

And for Jakša and other fans of older vessels from Rijeka, here is the last in the series of four sisterships from 3. Maj built in 1949/1950. Titograd was launched on 29th November, 1949. ( almost three years after the keel was laid !) and delivered on 24th January, 1950. Lasted for long 34 years, survived all sisterships ( I remember that I saw her in Alexandria, March 1984. and took a photo ). She finished the last voyage Rijeka - Alexandria on 31st August, 1984., and was delivered to breakers on the same place where she was built. Here seen in Venice.

Dear Milko,

You know how to get to one's heart! Right on target and all I can say is thank you for making an old man from Vis happy. Your "Trsat" and "Nehaj" photos are just over the moon - brother Luka will go weak at the knees - he served on "Kostrena's" first voyage.
I have decided to make a scale model of the Trsat/Nehaj/Kostrena/Primorje/Jesenice class just like I did for "Rijeka", would you happen to know Trsat/Nehaj..... dimensions so that I can work out the scale? Would appreciate it.

Last time I was in Croatia I ran out of time - had too many things on the house on Vis, but this summer I'll be there from mid-june till August and will most definitely come to see you in Sibenik - that is a promise OK.

Again, najljepsa hvala

Jaksa

I'll try to find pic of Kostrena. Dimensions of Trsat are the same as others in class 1960 - 1967: LOA 155,22 m, LBP 145,0 m, B 20,5 m, D 12,2 m. Draught 9,47 m. Only Bosna and Hrvatska had slightly different length.

Onda, vidimo se ovo ljeto.

Pozdrav - Milko
