This is what's left of a coal barge which was discarded and beached in Wreck Cove, McNab's Island, Halifax Harbour.

As I hear several of these coal barges were abandoned and wrecked in 1959, when a company was changing from coal to oil.

The top of this ship was stripped off later for scrap metal.

There are quite a few wrecks in wreck cove, some are of old wooden vessels that are now under the water and mostly deteriorated.
