Description:

Rickmer Rickmers at Hamburg. Built in 1896 as a clipper on the Far East route for cargoes of rice and bamboo, the Rickmer Rickmers has been a museum ship permanently moored at the St. Pauli Landungsbrucke (landing bridge) in Hamburg, Germany. She was caputured by the British in Porugal during World War 1 and sailed under both British and Portuguese flags until 1983 when she was purchased by a Hamburg consortium for a museum ship project. She won the Tall Ships Race under the Portuguese flag in 1958 sailing under the name Sagres.
