Hedwigshutte, Kohlen & Kokswerke AG of Hamburg's 1910 Stettin built HANS BERNSTEIN is seen entering the Kiel Canal at Brunsbüttel on 2nd August 1969 during a voyage from Seville to Lübeck.
EX-BRANDENBURG-20, VASCO - 29, FRANZ-JURGEN - 52, FRANZ-JURGEN J.NIMTZ - 54
The last voyage of HANS BERNSTEIN was in ballast from St. Malo (sailed 29th October 1969) bound for Klaipeda to load another cargo of coal.
She sadly grounded off Klaipeda on 19th November 1969 and was lost.

Lloyds SI gives year of build as 1910/ 2367grt.
Owned by Hedwigshutte, Kohlen & Kokswerke AG, Hamburg.
Last voyage: St Malo (29/10/69) for Klaipeda. Grounded near Klaipeda on 19/11/69 and that sadly was the end for her.
