Description:
12-10-07 Two warships from PLAN visit Wellington for three days. The 144 metre Haerbin seen here approaching her berth at Queens Wharf with the welcoming crowd visible on the wharf. The 168 metre supply tanker Hongzehu berthed at Aotea Quay, Haerbin was given a 21 gun salute as she entered port and their brass band played supurbly announcing her arrival as well. The flotilla is led by Rear Admiral Zhang Xue-zen, Deputy Chief of Staff, North Sea Fleet.

Fine photograph and what struck me were the amazing colour tones - grays and reds. Great description as to why the vessel was in port, always helps to set the scene, so thanks for that information.
