Parsian Shila has been delivered perfectly completed, at the beginning of this year by Astilleros Armón Vigo.

Officially, she is owned by the Iranian company Salem Chabahar Products Food Ltd...
To me, the identity of the owners seem quite doubtfull: how an unknown company -I've been unable to find out any other tuna purse seiners operated by this owner so far- could order such a technologically-advanced vessel? What's more, I've heard that the officials onboard are going to be Spanish people.
All together, I think that the Iranian owner must be somekind of mixed enterprise with Spanish owners. This could be a reason for Parsian Shila to remain so much time docked in Vigo.

Salem Chabahar Products Food seems to be an important company in Iran and middle east as a manufacturer of canned tuna fish. Nevertheless, she has NO experience in tuna fishing.

Hi Alexander

I found some information on this vessel @ http://www.infomarine.com/infomarine134/134buquespag19eng.htm

According to that February 2007 article she was built by Vigo-based Shipyard Armón.

Perhaps she wasn't quite finished when you took your photograph or perhaps there has been a problem with the order?

Regards

Steve Ellwood
