The Ensco 86, a LeTourneau Class 82-SD-C Jack up here in Mobile Bay on 30th July, 2005 as I approached for a rig visit. She was built in 1981 in Brownsville Texas when it was owned by Marathon LeTourneau. Our long relationship with LeTourneau continues to this day as we collaborate to build highly desired rig designs. Among a few of the rig operators I talked to when they visited the yard, most if not all preferred the utility and viability of these 82-SD-C rigs. In this case, she was drilling in very shallow water, yet also has the capability of working at depths of 250 feet.
