I apologize for the quality, but I took this shot (as with some others I am posting) when I was a child with no photography knowledge and a cheap and indifferent camera.
Launched 7 July 1943 at New Orleans, LA, by the Delta SBCo. as *John Stagg,* hull no. 67, for the War Shipping Administration, Washington, DC, a Z-ET1-S-C3 “Liberty” ship tanker, managed by Bernuth-Lubcke Co., New York. 422.8’ x 57’ x 34.8;’ 7176 gt, 4380 nt; triple expansion steam engine, 24.5”-37”-70” x 48,” 2500-ihp, built by American SBCo., Lorain.
Later *Takoil* ((1950). Converted to a general cargo ship and lengthened 1954-55: 511’6” x 57’ x 26’2.75;” 8513 gt, 5696 nt. Later *National Servant* (1954) and *Yiannina* (1961). Broken up at Hirao 1968.
