You say the ship is undertaking trials with a civilian crew. How in Germany is it made possible a military ship to undertake sea trials with a civilian status ? Do seatrials include combat system trials ? I don't understand how a not IMO standards ship could be authorised to navigate without a military status.

it is simply the fact that the vessel is not being accepted by German Navy before something special performance tests have been conducted succesful. The crew is shipyard's personnel accompanied by military personnel, of course. After that, the ship will be overhanded to the German procurement authority and from that time a military crew is responsible.
