I travelled on Triaster several times in the 1960s as a student returning from boarding school to Nauru and Ocean Island. Great ship - we thought she was so posh - air-conditioning throughout the passenger accommodation. Had lucnh on board when she visited PNG in 1970 as the Rosie D. Still posh. She and the Triellis had heavy lifting equipment in the bow to carry out the deep sea moorings maintenance at Nauru, Ocean Island and Christmas Island. Hence the steep bow on both ships, so they could come right up over the mooring buoy.
