Quote from "Upstream online "
Supermajor Chevron has ordered a 100,000 barrel-per-day FPSO from Dutch maritime engineering group SBM Offshore for its Frade project in Brazil.

Chevron officials declined to give the value of the deal, under which SBM will convert the Lu San into a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, but they told a news conference Chevron and its partners in Frade would invest $1.2 billion in the vessel and subsea equipment and other infrastructure.

The project, in the deep-sea part of the Campos basin, should start pumping crude in late 2008 or early 2009. It should reach peak production of 90,000 bpd of oil in 2011, Reuters reported.

FMC Technologies will supply subsea systems including wellheads, pipelines and manifolds for Frade. FMC said separately the contract was worth approximately $130 million in revenue to FMC Technologies.

The Frade project is located off the Brazilian coast in about 4000 feet of water.

Regards,Rick
