Description:

The 1966 built Great Lakes bulker Algosteel replenishes its fuel bunkers at the Esso Dock on the evening of
September 8, 2007. The venerable bulker is at
Sarnia, Ontario; the photo was taken from Port Huron, Ontario. It was such a nice day and warm evening that one did not want to leave the St. Clair River.

Over time just about every ship fills up here or at the Shell Dock down the river a bit, even the U.S. flagged bulkers. At least they don't have much of a charge for transporting the fuel to the dock!

I always found it interesting that the bulkers would bunker here too. must be quite the job for the bunker surveyors to calculate how much is pumped from shore tanks. would be nice if there was a bunker tanker
