Hi, that's a great photo, good weather, sharp image, and the ship's got good lines as well. It just does not look like, what it says "containership" - they usually have different looks, really. Surprise, surprise !

Hello my friend, yes, she is old you know, just like me: Then she obviously must have nice lines, hehe!
Very easy ship to take a nice shot of.
Hold on to your hats in the storm.

Hello,
Vigo Stone has been built in Vyborg Shipyard (Russia) as a container vessel in 1972 under the name "Pioner Vyborga". She was the fourth unit of the "Sestroretsk" class. She was used to carry containers for USSR until she was sold to B-Navy and became Galicia Stone in 1996 then Vigo Stone in 1999. She is used since 1996 to load granit stones.
Sestroretsk class vessels are the first full container ships built in USSR for USSR.
Give a loog to the Vigo STone page in my website :

Wow, cool stuff! I knew she was a stone-carrier, have seen her many times in larvik before, i live in the neighbourtown. But i was surprised she was a containercarrier from the start. Very nice vessel.
