Its an Easter weekend as Chandris Lines' emigrant carrier Patris arrives at Port Adelaide's Outer Harbor, mid-morning 20 April 1969. The Ritch & Smith tug Yelta is in attendance. The decks are crowded with passengers - chiefly Greek and Southern European migrants to Australia.

Wow!! Absolutely super shot of a handsome and successful vessel (though not successful for her original owners). I have a real soft spot for this ship; as a result of an article I wrote on her for Ships Monthly I was asked to write several ocean liner books.

I sailed on her as a child Dec '73 for a 3 week south pacific cruise...still watch the super 8 footage, now transfered to DVD often.

WOW! This photo is magnificent. It rates both a WOW! and a HOLY TOLEDO! which are the highest accolades I give. You vintage photography is really excellent and I would love to see your photos in a book - they certainly deserve to be between hard covers!
