Welcome back -- good to see you out taking photos and posting them here.
And they are even excellent photos!

Long winter - we were up at the cottage a lot over the winter but it's not the same with the ships sliding by.
Got a new camera this year with a kickin lens - going to get a new boat to to get out there, up and close.

I made the jump this year from a good digital (Kodak 7590) to a digital SLR. I have a Canon XTi. I took a lot of good photos with the Kodak but there is no comparison when you go to the SLR
I used a Canon L series lens. It's the 70-200mm f4.0. It's the entry level lens for this series, next step up is image stabilization, after that you can go from f 4.0 to 2.8. Lens gets bigger and about $500 more each step. Even without the IS, it's a really nice lens and takes nice shots. I had to step down the image size from what I took to get it on the site.
Regards,
Tom
