Very interesting photo.

P.S: She may have been the biggest that had gone down a slipway at the time, but the biggest ever are, as fara s I know, the six 392,000 dwt giants built by AG Weser in the 1970s.

I think she was originally ordered for Norwegian owners and was taken instead by Shell. She was lengthened on the building berth. I also read that on arrival in Hamburg on delivery she was given a civic reception.
